Many small businesses believe that not having a Facebook Business Page is not important for their business, or that Facebook is outdated. However, having your business on Facebook will give you the edge of being able to be found by anyone looking for your services online. If I search online for the services you provide and your business isn’t listed, I’ll likely come across a competitor instead, potentially resulting in lost profits for you. So let’s get you ready to setup your Business Facebook page by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to Facebook: Go to Facebook’s website (https://www.facebook.com/) and log in with your personal account credentials. If you don’t have a personal account, you’ll need to create one before proceeding.
  1. Access Pages: Once logged in, locate the “Pages” option in the left-hand sidebar menu. Click on it to access the Pages section.
  1. Create a Page: In the Pages section, click on the “Create” button located in the upper right corner of the screen. This will prompt a drop-down menu with different options. Select “Page” from this menu.
  1. Choose Page Type: Facebook will ask you to choose a page type that best represents your business. The options include:
  • Local Business or Place
  • Company, Organization, or Institution
  • Brand or Product
  • Artist, Band, or Public Figure
  • Entertainment
  • Cause or Community

Select the most appropriate category for your business and follow the prompts to fill in relevant details such as your business name, category, address, and phone number.

  1. Add Profile Picture and Cover Photo: Upload a profile picture for your business page. This could be your company logo or another image that represents your brand. Then, add a cover photo that showcases your business or products/services.
  2. Complete About Section: Fill out the “About” section with essential information about your business, including a brief description, website URL, and any other relevant details.
  3. Create Username (Optional): You have the option to create a custom username (also known as a vanity URL) for your page, making it easier for people to find and remember your page’s URL. This username should be unique and reflect your business name or identity.
  4. Add Page to Favorites (Optional): If you want quick access to your business page, you can add it to your favorites by clicking on the three dots next to the “Share” button on your page and selecting “Add to Favorites.”
  5. Review Page Settings: Review the settings for your new page, including privacy settings, messaging preferences, and notifications. Customize these settings according to your preferences and needs.
  6. Publish Your Page: Once you’ve filled in all the necessary information and customized your page to your liking, click on the “Publish” button to make your page live on Facebook.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully created a Facebook Business Page for your business. Now you can start posting content, engaging with your audience, and growing your online presence on Facebook. Which in turn can bring sales to your business. Another good thing about having a Facebook Business Page is that you can connect it with a business instagram account and they work in conjunction, so when you post to instagram it automatically posts on Facebook, this is a great time saver.
